Charlotte Tastemaker Summit

Last Wednesday, I had the privilege and honor to be a featured panelist during the Charlotte Tastemaker Summit presented by Black Southern Belle, for the Black Southern Belle Collective.  The event was a meeting of the minds, the creative minds that is.  Professionals ranging from event planners, to interior designers, publishers, and DIY crafters alike joined forces for the ultimate display of southern girl power!

The Charlotte Tastemaker Summer is the brainchild of Black Southern Belle founder & creator, Michiel Perry.  I recall our first face to face encounter and our emails and direct messages back and forth when she first began developing this project and I'm so happy to have been a part of it.  The event ran like a finely tuned machine thanks to Michiel and her planning staff from Charleston, SC (where she resides).  Upon entering the venue, Tuft Store, which is located in the Plaza Midwood District, you immediately felt a sense of southern hospitality.

A bar cart stocked with Pure Leaf iced tea was available, in addition to a check-in station with southern swank goodie bags filled with local and regional southern publications to include, Pride Magazine, Southern Weddings, The Scout Guide, and The Knot.  Not to mention the other goodies; cookies, a cutting board, hibiscus sugar from The Peach Dish, and an apron.

There were several power-packed panels during the event featuring some of the South's most noted professionals.  Check out photos below, and lookout for additional dates in Atlanta, GA and Charleston, SC.
